There are many ways to get involved with the JCR:
Sports Teams
There are several sports teams, all you need to do to join a sports team is sign up in freshers' week or contact the team captain directly. You can find information on the Mildert sports team here.
Committees
Committees have a wide and varied array of mechanisms for getting involved. Some committees are open, meaning you can simply sign up and be involved right away, others are closed. Closed committees require either an interview or a Hust and a Vote to get on.
Most closed committees have fixed interview times, to find out when the next set will be you need to get in contact with the committee head. You can find information about all committees here.
Societies
Societies are like sports teams, you simply need to contact the head of the society to get involved. A list of Mildert societies can be found here.
Election Timetable
There are several JCR positions that are elected at JCR Meetings. Most of these are heads of various committees. The times for these elections can be found in Appendix A of the Constitution.
Nothing here you like?
Perhaps the best part about the JCR system is that any member of the JCR can create a new sports team, committee or society based on what they want to see in the JCR! For instance, if you are a particularly big fan of Tiddlywinks, and the JCR doesn't have a Tiddlywinks sports team (or society?) any JCR member can set it up, and even recieve funding from the JCR to purchase the required materials. The JCR is all about facilitating you!
