Careers Bulletin

Morning Mildert!

Just to let you know that there is now a new careers area outside the library with helpful leaflets and information AND all the careers resources in the library have been updated.

So if you're a finalist still worrying about getting a job or are looking for internship advice, this is a great place to start.

Also, the Careers, Employability and Enterprise Centre is a fantastic resource for job-hunting http://www.dur.ac.uk/careers/

Not decided on a career? Like to talk to someone in a career you might be considering?

There is a 'Discovery Event' happening at the DSU this Thursday (23rd Februrary), 12pm till 2:30pm. More information at http://www.dur.ac.uk/careers/

This event is not a recruitment fair but will give you the opportunity to speak to people about the jobs they actually do and find out how they got to where they are.

Check the website for up to date details of attendees http://www.dur.ac.uk/careers/s/events/fairs/dsu

As always, any questions or issues let me know!

Drink Spiking

*********IMPORTANT WELFARE MESSAGE**********

Dear Students,

Over recent weeks I have received a number of reports from students who have been on nights out and believe their drinks to have been spiked during the course of the night.

May I remind you all never to leave a drink unattended and never to leave your drink with somebody that you do not know and trust.

It is also important that if you are drinking alcohol then you are aware of your personal limits. If you are uncontrollably drunk then you are placing yourself in a dangerous position and it is much easier for people to take advantage of you.

Please remember to drink sensibly all of the time and remember to always keep your drink close.

With best wishes,

Scott
