The JCR’s Structure

The Board of Trustees
The JCR is overseen by an Board of Trustees which is comprised of between 2 and 6 appointed trustees, between 2 and 4 nominated trustees (student trustees), and one ex-officio trustee (the president). The Trustees receive regular reports from the President and Treasurer, and ensure that the JCR fulfils its charitable objectives. The Executive Committee
There are 11 members of the Executive Committee: the President, nine Executive Officers (shown above), and the Chair. The President leads the Executive Committee, the Chair convenes and chairs meetings of the Committee, and the Treasurer advises the Committee on financial matters relating to the JCR. The members of the Committee provide regular updates about their role, and are intended to represent all corners of the JCR. Appointed Officers
There are 20+ Appointed Officers in the JCR, who largely deputise for and assist an Executive Officer (as shown in the diagram above). The WASA (Website and Systems Administrator), Head of Technical Committee, and Shop Manager report to the President. More about these roles can be found here.
Committees
At Van Mildert we have many committees, which are often a good way to first get involved with the JCR. These range from Events Committees, Outreach Projects, Talk and Support; to Finance, Governance, Website, Technical and Shop Committees. You can see the full list of committees here.
